What to expect, so nothing feels like a surprise.

How everything works, how insurance and billing fit in, and where to turn if today feels urgent.

Practical guides

Direct billing and insurance

How paying for therapy actually works: direct billing, extended health plans, ICBC and CVAP funding, receipts, and the questions worth asking your insurer before your first session.

Areas of support

The kinds of things people bring here: anxiety, low mood, grief, burnout, relationship patterns. Each one has its own page, written in plain language.

What to expect in therapy

How I work, what a first session is like, and what the space between us is for. Written so nothing about beginning feels like a mystery.

How therapy works here, step by step

  1. 01

    You reach out

A few sentences are plenty, and you do not need the right words yet. I read every message myself and reply within two business days, with no pressure to book anything.

  2. 02

    A gentle 15-minute conversation

Free, and mostly for you. Ask me anything: how I work, what sessions feel like, fees, privacy, whether I am the right person for this. It is completely okay to decide no.

  3. 03

    Intake and first session

You will have a short form and a plain-language consent summary beforehand, and we go through it together at the start. After that, the first session is mostly listening. You choose where to begin and how much to share.

  4. 04

    The work, session to session

Usually weekly at the beginning, in 50, 75, or 90 minute sessions. We move between understanding what keeps happening and trying something a little different in everyday life, always at a pace you set.

  5. 05

    Reviewing together

Every so often we pause and look at how it is going: what feels lighter, what still hurts, and what you need next. Slowing down, stopping, or moving on to someone else are all welcome outcomes.
